Ichirou Inuyashiki is a 58-year-old man struggling with loneliness and constant back pain. His wife and children barely acknowledge him, leaving him feeling unwanted. The only comfort in his life is Hanako, a stray Shiba Inu he takes in. Then, a doctor delivers crushing news-he has stomach cancer and just months to live. When his family reacts with cold indifference, Ichirou breaks down and flees to a nearby field, clinging to his dog in despair. But his sorrow is interrupted by the appearance of a mysterious figure.
