Holmes of Kyoto - S01

High schooler Aoi Mashiro left home six months ago, but after a recent breakup, she decides to return and give her ex-boyfriend a piece of her mind. Short on cash for a train ticket, she swipes two hanging scrolls from her grandfather's attic and takes them to an antique shop in Kyoto's Teramachi Sanjou shopping district to get them appraised. She doesn't realize this trip will lead to an unexpected meeting. Inside the shop, Aoi meets Kiyotaka Yagashira, the owner's grandson and a Kyoto University graduate student. Known as "Holmes"-both for a play on his name and his sharp detective skills-Kiyotaka examines the scrolls and notices something special about Aoi. He realizes she has a natural intuition much like his own. Feeling for her situation, he offers her a part-time job so she can earn the money she needs. Before long, Aoi and Kiyotaka are working side by side-not just in the shop, but also solving problems for people around town. With his keen deduction and her gut instincts, the two make a perfect pair, like a modern-day Holmes and Watson.
