Professional sumo has no weight divisions-it's a brutal sport where only the toughest thrive, and anyone brave enough can enter the ring. But there's a catch: wrestlers must meet a minimum size requirement to go pro. Hinomaru Ushio, despite his raw talent and relentless drive, is too small to qualify. Yet this determined boy dreams of reaching sumo's highest rank, Hinoshita Kaisan. His only shot is to earn the title of High School Yokozuna, awarded to the strongest wrestler in high school tournaments. Time is against Ushio. If he can't prove himself in these tournaments, his pro ambitions may vanish forever. Instead of joining Ishigami High, Japan's top sumo school, he chooses Odachi High and teams up with its sole dedicated member, Shinya Ozeki, to start a sumo club from scratch. Odachi High is a total underdog, but Ushio refuses to back down. To turn pro, he'll have to fight with everything he's got.
