Haibane Renmei - S01

A young Haibane-a being with a halo and small gray wings-emerges from a cocoon in the village of Old Home, with no memory of her past. She is named Rakka after the falling dream she had before awakening. Gradually, she adjusts to life in this unfamiliar town, though she and the other Haibane must follow strict rules, like never leaving the village or approaching the walls that enclose it. But their peaceful existence is shadowed by uncertainty, especially when some Haibane mysteriously vanish on their "Day of Flight." Rakka and the others grow uneasy, knowing so little about their own kind. As they live without memories of who they once were, the Haibane struggle to move beyond their past suffering and search for a way to find peace.
