Long ago, a human defeated the most ancient and powerful dragon-one so strong even the gods feared it. Yet the dragon accepted its fate, dying alone. Then, unexpectedly, it awoke reborn as a young man named Dolan in a distant village. Now living as an ordinary human, Dolan spends his days farming and hunting. Village life is simple, but it brings him a warmth and contentment he never knew as a dragon. One day, while wandering a swamp, Dolan meets Celina, a lamia-half-human, half-snake. She’s searching for a companion but confesses her struggles with humans due to her serpentine nature. Despite their differences, Dolan and Celina form a tentative friendship.
