Ghost in the Shell 2.0

In 2029, after World Wars III and IV, a Japanese-led Asian alliance holds global power. Their elite security force, made up of cybernetically enhanced operatives, handles high-tech terrorists and other threats to international stability. These agents can "ghost hack"-transferring their consciousness through the widespread internet-into machines or human-machine hybrids. Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cybernetically augmented operative, leads a skilled team tracking a virtual being called the Puppet Master. Created by a rival agency, the Puppet Master can shift forms and now claims to be a true life form, "born in a sea of information." Defying its creators, it seeks political asylum and a physical body of its own.
