El-Hazard: The Wanderers - S01

Makoto Mizuhara, a high school science prodigy, is putting the finishing touches on his latest project for the school festival with his best friend, Nanami Jinnai. Meanwhile, Nanami's brother Katsuhiko-Makoto's longtime rival and the shady student council president-is under fire for mismanaging the festival plans. Convinced Makoto is scheming to take his place, Katsuhiko sneaks into the science lab one night and sabotages Makoto's invention. The device malfunctions, opening a portal that sends Makoto, Nanami, Katsuhiko, and their teacher Masamichi Fujisawa tumbling into another world. As soon as Makoto arrives, he's swarmed by giant insect monsters. Fleeing for his life, he stumbles upon Fujisawa and a mysterious girl named Rune Venus. After Fujisawa fends off the creatures, a group of officials arrives, revealing Rune is their princess and that they've landed in a world called El-Hazard. The group escorts Makoto and Fujisawa to Roshtaria, the royal palace, where Rune insists they be treated as honored guests despite her advisors' distrust. She quickly bonds with Makoto, unaware that Nanami and Katsuhiko are also stranded in this world. Meanwhile, Makoto sets his mind on finding a way back home.
