Five hundred years ago, the fantasy world of Alneath was shattered by a war between immortal magic wielders and mortals armed with enchanted relics. The conflict ended when the mortal hero Gram defeated the Demon Lord Veltol Velvet Velsvolt. Now, in the year 2099, the world has changed. Alneath and technologically advanced Earth have merged in an event called Fantasion. Immortals have been hunted almost to extinction, while mortals use magic through technological implants known as Familia. As the new world struggles to rebuild, Veltol is resurrected in Shinjuku-a city of magic and machinery built on ruined lands-by his former vassal, Machina Solege. But Veltol's powers are diminished, and his old ally Marcus has turned against him. To restore his strength and reputation, Veltol takes the advice of Takahashi, Machina's hacker friend, and embarks on an unlikely path: becoming a live streamer. His biting wit and hilariously bad gaming skills win him an audience, but if he hopes to reclaim his dominion, he must first unravel Shinjuku's mysteries and stop Marcus' sinister schemes.
