Junpei Murao first fell in love with ballet as a child after seeing a male dancer’s captivating performance at his sister’s recital. But the thought of his classmates discovering his secret passion-and labeling him as unmanly-terrifies him. To keep up appearances, he joins the soccer club, practices Jeet Kune Do, and plans to follow his father’s path as a stunt coordinator-all traditionally "masculine" pursuits. When his classmate Miyako Godai catches him showing off a kick that blends ballet and martial arts, she insists he join her mother’s ballet studio. Junpei resists at first; though he’s given up on ballet as a career, nothing else gives him the same thrill. After years of burying his passion, letting go of his insecurities and defying expectations isn’t easy. To truly embrace ballet, he’ll have to face sacrifices, doubt, and even the risk of losing friends.
