Brynhildr in the Darkness - S01

Skeptical Ryouta Murakami and his driven friend Kuroneko once ventured into the wilderness to prove aliens existed-until a terrible accident took Kuroneko’s life and left Ryouta severely injured. Ten years later, Ryouta is just another high school student, but he still carries his vow to uncover the truth about extraterrestrials in Kuroneko’s memory. Then a transfer student, Neko Kuroha, arrives. She looks uncannily like Kuroneko, even sharing a similar name, and seems to wield strange powers. As Ryouta grows closer to Neko, he’s pulled into a dangerous world where scientists hunt witches-escaped subjects of a secret lab-with deadly intent. Neko is one of them, but others are still at risk. Now, Ryouta must find a way to protect them all.
