Humans and Beastmen-people with the genetic "Beast Factor" that lets them shapeshift-have always been in conflict. Because of this, Beastmen have had to live in hiding. Anima City is their refuge, a place where they can live without human persecution. At a festival marking the city's 10th anniversary, Michiru Kagemori, a human who inexplicably turned into a tanuki, realizes Anima City isn't the paradise she imagined. When an explosion rocks the square, she crosses paths with Shirou Ogami, a nearly invincible wolf and fierce protector of Beastmen. Together, they hunt down the bombers-but soon uncover that Michiru is no ordinary Beastman. Her strange powers and unknown past raise questions: could she be the key to bridging the gap between Humans and Beastmen?
