In the future, the waters around Onomichi, Hiroshima-and eventually the entire world-lose their fish, leaving only whales in the ocean. To address this, the Ministry of Fishery launches massive experimental "Universe Fish Tanks" in space. The Onomichi Universe Fishery Union forms to train space fishermen, and with equal employment laws pushing for gender balance, women are now actively recruited. The story follows six new female space fishermen as they learn and grow in their roles.
