16bit Sensation: Another Layer - S01

Konoha Akisato has always loved bishoujo games-titles centered around charming female characters-and dreams of becoming a celebrated artist. When she lands her first job as a sub-illustrator at the game company Blue Bell, she quickly realizes the grim state of the industry in 2023. Bishoujo games have become flooded with lazy, cookie-cutter releases, and Blue Bell is a major contributor to the decline. After wandering into a retro game shop and reflecting on the genre’s golden age, Konoha inexplicably finds herself in 1992-just as bishoujo games are starting to take off. At first, she struggles to adjust, but she soon joins Alcohol Soft, a small game studio that hires her as an illustrator. Though she expects her future knowledge to give her an edge, she soon learns that the outdated technology and artistic techniques force her to adapt quickly if she wants to achieve her dreams.
