With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess

Centuries ago, a deadly plague swept through the Kingdom of Geed until a girl with healing powers emerged and saved the nation. Today, she is worshipped as the goddess Lushe, and a temple dedicated to her trains others with similar abilities to serve as "saintesses." Lua Restoatt is a candidate to become a saintess, but her power is flawed-instead of healing others directly, she takes their injuries onto herself, earning her the scornful nickname "Broken Saintess." Her reckless use of this ability nearly kills her when she saves Garrett Vance, a knight captain she admires. However, her best friend, Arianne Trebias, claims the credit and becomes engaged to Garrett. Devastated by the betrayal, Lua swears off healing and focuses on her hidden second ability: transferring the wounds she once absorbed back onto others. When Second Prince Sven Geed Crone witnesses this, he offers her an alliance. Consumed by revenge, the once-meek Lua agrees, joining forces with the prince to retaliate against those who betrayed her and uncover the temple's darkest secrets.
