Wangan Midnight - S01

Night after night, street racers flock to Tokyo’s Wangan Route, chasing nothing but pure speed. A newcomer catches the veterans’ attention when he buys the infamous Nissan Fairlady Z, known as "The Devil Z." Despite warnings from Eriko Asakura-who lost her brother, Akio, in a crash involving the same car-the new owner, who happens to share her brother’s name, becomes obsessed with the car’s eerie power, even after wrecking it twice. Now a high school dropout working just to pay for repairs, Akio befriends the local racers: the legendary driver of the Porsche 911 Turbo, nicknamed "Blackbird"; Tatsuya Shima, a skilled surgeon; and Reina Akikawa, a model by day and a master behind the wheel of her Nissan Skyline GT-R at night. Through them, Akio tracks down Jun Kitami, the retired designer of The Devil Z’s engine. After meeting Akio, Jun starts building monstrously powerful-but deadly-engines again. As the Wangan racers push their limits, they find themselves locked in an endless battle against The Devil Z, with no finish line in sight.
