Shuuichi Nitori, a delicate-looking fifth grader, is often mistaken for a girl-but despite appearances, he’s biologically male. This weighs heavily on him, but he finds comfort in his childhood friend Yoshino Takatsuki, who faces her own struggles with gender identity. Though born female, Yoshino doesn’t see herself as a girl. Together, they navigate the challenges of a new school, forming new friendships while trying to hold onto old ones.
