Ninjas, long thought to be extinct, have returned to modern Japan after the Pacific War. Rumors say their numbers have swelled to two hundred thousand, and they now work in the shadows, infiltrating both public and private institutions across the country. One of these ninjas is Kurou Kumogakure, a listless 17-year-old who spends his days in a shabby apartment with little ambition. To most, he’s just a lazy freeloader who steals beer from his neighbor. But beneath his slacker attitude lies something far more dangerous. When Kurou is assigned to infiltrate a local high school, his hidden skills are put to the test-though the mission turns out to be far more complicated than he expected.
