Though the Decepticons have left Earth, a group of Autobot Pretenders stays behind as a precaution. Led by Metalhawk-who goes by "Hawk" in his human disguise-they blend in with humans using their Pretender shells to appear human-sized. Their vigilance proves necessary when Decepticon Pretenders emerge, led by a shadowy power known as Devil Z. As tensions rise, both factions expand their ranks by recruiting humans to become Junior Headmasters and Godmasters (also called Powermasters).
