Thunderbirds 2086 - S01

Thunderbirds 2086 is set about twenty years after the original series, which is typically placed around 2065 (though some on-screen dates differ). It follows the Thunderbirds, a rescue team operating under the International Rescue Organisation (IRO). Unlike the original, smaller, family-run International Rescue, the IRO is a large, multi-branch organization supervised by the Federation-a future version of the United Nations. While no direct links between the two series are confirmed, it’s implied that the original group evolved into this expanded form over the decades. The Tracy family isn’t referenced in this animated version. In this series, "Thunderbirds" refers to the team itself, whereas in the original, it only named their vehicles. Most episodes focus on the team responding to disasters, whether natural or man-made, much like the original. However, Thunderbirds 2086 adds an overarching plot involving the Shadow Axis, a separatist group led by the enigmatic Star Crusher. There are strong hints that Star Crusher isn’t human and could be an alien being.
