The World Is Dancing

In a world where dance is not essential for survival, a young man seeks meaning in movement. The year is 1374, a time of strife as the Northern and Southern Courts clash for power. Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the shogun of the Northern Court, grows ever more influential. Oniyasha, son of Kanami-leader of the Kanze sarugaku troupe-wanders through life with a lingering question: Why do people dance? His mind remains unsettled until he witnesses a dance so profound it can only be called "good." Sensitive, inquisitive, and striking in appearance, the boy encounters others, experiences joy and sorrow, faces his own flaws, and gradually crafts a new kind of dance-one that reflects the fleeting nature of the world around him.
