The Gokusen - S01

Kumiko Yamaguchi is a bright, eager math teacher starting her dream job at Shirokin Academy. But her first day reveals the harsh reality: the all-boys school is overrun by delinquent students who have no interest in learning, and even the staff are too afraid to discipline them. What her unruly class doesn’t realize is that Kumiko isn’t just a nerdy teacher-she’s also the acting leader of a powerful yakuza family, with the fighting skills to back it up. Though she can take down hardened gangsters in seconds, she has to hide her strength and underworld ties to keep her teaching job. But between the vice principal scheming to fire her and Shin Sawada, the class troublemaker, sensing there’s more to her than meets the eye, Kumiko’s teaching career is off to a rough start.
