The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity

Kikyo Private Academy and Chidori Public High School couldn’t be more different. Kikyo is an elite school with a long tradition, attended by refined young women from respected families, while Chidori has a notorious reputation for its rough-and-tumble delinquents. Naturally, the students of these two schools don’t get along. Rintarou Tsumugi, a student at Chidori, has a tall, intimidating presence that makes people wary of him-even though he’s actually kindhearted. While helping at his family’s pastry shop one day, he meets a customer who, after a brief interaction, quickly runs off. The next day, she returns to apologize, introducing herself as the lively Kaoruko Waguri. Rintarou enjoys Kaoruko’s company, relieved that she doesn’t judge him by his tough exterior. He starts looking forward to their meetings-until he learns she attends Kikyo. Now, their unlikely friendship will test the rigid social boundaries between their two worlds.
