The Boy and the Beast

Two lonely souls, each living in their own isolated worlds, find themselves drawn together. Nine-year-old Ren has lost the last person who showed him kindness, and his remaining family wants nothing to do with him. With no parents, no home, and nowhere to turn, he flees into the maze of Shibuya's streets. There, he meets the fearsome Kumatetsu, who takes him into the beast realm of Shibuten. For Kumatetsu, the boy is an opportunity. Though he is a powerful fighter, his cold demeanor has left him without disciples-and without a chance to prove himself worthy of becoming the next lord of the realm. Ren, now called Kyuuta, just wants a place to belong. Though their goals are different, they agree to help each other: Kumatetsu seeks respect, while Kyuuta searches for a home. As time passes, they begin to realize their bond runs deeper than they first imagined. A boy and a beast, they may not be so different after all.
