In the year 2999, humanity is divided between two warring factions, Terra and Ness, battling across the stars. Among their best pilots is Yamamoto Yohko, a brash teenage girl. During a mission, she and her crew are pulled into a time warp-like something out of "Star Trek"-and sent back to the present day. With no memory of her past, Yohko believes she’s just an ordinary high school student. But when events lead her back to her ship, the TA-29, her new friends join her in a conflict that feels eerily like a video game, down to the 100-yen charge to start up the fighters.
