Anna Akechi is a 14-year-old second-year junior high student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she meets a fairy named Pochitan and accidentally travels back in time from 2027 to 1999, thanks to a magical pendant. In this version of Makoto Mirai Town, 28 years in the past, she befriends Mikuru Kobayashi, a girl her age who dreams of becoming a famous detective. Around them, strange thefts are happening - valuable items are disappearing without a trace, stolen by a group calling themselves the Phantom Thieves. To fight back, Anna and Mikuru transform into Precures. As they work to solve the town’s mysteries, Anna wonders if uncovering the truth might also help her return to her own time.
