Space Symphony Maetel

Maetel left behind her mother and her homeworld, the icy, dying planet La Metal, where survival means giving up one's humanity to become a machine. When called back, she faces a grim choice: embrace her mother's fate-losing herself to a robotic mind and earning humanity's hatred-or flee and join the fight against the machines. But she isn't alone. With allies among the metal beings who seek peace, and by rejecting those who believe humanity is defined by flesh alone, she might still carve out a future on her own terms.
