Shangri-La - S01

In a future Japan devastated by earthquakes, much of the country lies in ruins, overtaken by nature. Governments tightly control global emissions, widening the gap between the wealthy and the poor. When Japan unveils "Project Atlas"-a gleaming utopian city meant to replace Tokyo-only a select few can live there, forcing the rest to survive as refugees in the wild outskirts. Yet not everyone accepts this divided world. Among the dissenters are Kuniko Houjou, the heir to a rebellious town; Mikuni, a enigmatic and powerful child hidden away in a temple; Kunihito Kusanagi, a soldier working for the elite Atlas corporation; Karin Ishida, a brilliant economist with global influence; and Ryouko Naruse, the ruthless leader of Atlas, determined to maintain control. Now, calling themselves "Metal-Age," this unlikely group of rebels must unite to prove that cooperation and fairness can triumph over a system built on exclusion.
