SAKUGAN - S01

The "Labyrinth" is a vast underground world where humans live in settlements called "colonies." Over time, the surface has faded into myth-a place some believe might not even exist. To survive the harsh underground, colony residents take on specialized roles. "Workers" mine valuable ore to sustain their communities, while "Markers" venture into the Labyrinth’s surprisingly vibrant depths, mapping safe paths for others. Yet humanity’s survival is threatened by the "kaijuu"-creatures ranging from child-sized to as large as buildings, all hostile to humans. The biggest kaijuu can even breach colony walls, making them even deadlier. Memenpu, a nine-year-old prodigy, has already graduated college and invented tools that help the Workers in her colony. Lately, she’s been dreaming of a place with no ceiling-a sky unbroken by stone. This fuels her longing to become a Marker and search the Labyrinth for such a place. Despite her father Gagumber’s fierce objections, a sudden encounter with the kaijuu thrusts her into a perilous journey-one that could change humanity’s fate forever.
