A beach trip becomes something deeper for two people grieving the loss of loved ones. Maybe the enigmatic "Umi Warabe," a mysterious girl who appears at key moments, can help them heal and find a way forward. Yoshihiro Matsunaga is supervising a high school summer trip to the coast when he rescues student Nao Morisawa from drowning one night. A year earlier, Nao had visited this same beach with her fiancé, who later died in a plane crash. As Yoshihiro and Nao grow closer, it becomes clear he, too, carries a painful past. All the while, a strange young girl lingers nearby, appearing when they need her most.
