Prétear

After her father's remarriage, 16-year-old Himeno Awayuki moves into a spacious mansion with a picturesque garden-the kind of home any girl her age would dream of. But her new family isn't exactly welcoming. Her stepmother is too preoccupied with her father to pay her much attention, her younger stepsister Mawata acts distant, and Mayune, her stepsister of the same age, constantly plays tricks on her. Himeno doesn’t have time to wallow in loneliness, though. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets the Leafe Knights, a group of seven magical boys who ask her to become a magical princess called the Prétear, capable of wielding their powers. Though she agrees, she struggles with self-doubt-can she really protect the world and its life-giving energy, the Leafe? As she navigates her strained family relationships, Himeno must also face the looming threat of the Princess of Disaster. Will she find happiness with her new family and save the Earth in time?
