As the war between machines and androids rages on, YoRHa Command and the Resistance gear up for a final, all-out assault against the robotic "Machine Lifeforms" that dominate the earth’s surface. Amid the preparations, YoRHa androids 9S and 2B carry out their high-risk reconnaissance missions, though both grapple with their duties, their bond with each other, and their allegiance to Command. Even after the defeat of the sinister figures Adam and Eve, the machines remain a looming threat. A mysterious entity known as the "Red Girl" watches the androids from the shadows, biding her time before striking.
