Love and Lies

In a futuristic Japan, the government enforces a strict matchmaking program called "The Red Threads of Science" to boost marriage rates and counter the country’s declining population. At 16, citizens are assigned partners based on calculated compatibility, and refusing the arrangement comes with harsh consequences. Yukari Nejima, an ordinary teenager, sees this system as his best chance at a stable future-until he impulsively confesses his love to his longtime crush, Misaki Takasaki. Though hesitant at first, Misaki returns his feelings in a fleeting moment of emotion. But before they can explore their relationship, Yukari receives his official marriage assignment. His reluctant match, Ririna Sanada, takes an unexpected interest in his forbidden romance, pulling Yukari into a tangled mess of love and deception.
