Lotus Lantern

The story follows Chenxiang, a boy born to a goddess mother and a mortal father. His uncle, the powerful god Erlang Shen, kills Chenxiang's father and drives his mother into hiding. She gives birth in secret, and the boy grows up unaware of his divine heritage. His mother owns a magical "Lotus Lantern" that repels evil, but when Erlang Shen kidnaps Chenxiang, she fights to protect him. Erlang Shen overpowers her, taking Chenxiang to his palace in the sacred mountains and imprisoning his sister beneath a mountain as punishment. Though young, Chenxiang escapes, taking the lost Lotus Lantern with him. As he journeys through a world filled with figures from Chinese mythology, Chenxiang grows into a brave young man. He must confront his uncle to free his mother-while also discovering love along the way.
