Three hundred years ago, in the icy reaches of Siberia, Jubei Yagyu clashed with Kitaretsusai of the Northern Yagyu clan in a brutal duel. The fight came at a heavy price-Jubei's daughter, Freesia, was frozen in suspended animation. Centuries later, as global warming thaws the land, Freesia awakens from her icy prison and relocates to Japan as a middle school transfer student.
