Ichika Orimura leaves to visit the labs at Kuramochi Engineering, but while he’s away, an unknown enemy breaches IS Academy’s core systems, causing widespread damage. To counter the attack and fix the damage, his older sister Chifuyu recruits Ichika’s group of admirers-Houki Shinonono, Cecilia Alcott, Huang Lingyin, Laura Bodewig, and Charlotte Dunois-to enter the academy’s network via virtual reality and fight back. What they don’t realize is that a hidden malware program called "World Purge" activates as soon as they log in, trapping each of them in a personalized fantasy where they live out their perfect romantic relationship with Ichika. When Ichika returns to IS Academy, he must find a way to free the girls from their fabricated realities and bring them back to the real world.
