How to Be a Grown Up

High above Earth, hidden from human sight, lie the Heavens-a realm of floating island kingdoms upheld by the magic of their godlike rulers. Their power comes from Akuto, a mysterious energy source now on the brink of depletion. Facing this crisis, most kingdoms agree to ration their dwindling supply-except the Magical Kingdom. Its ruler, the Magical King Munto, is convinced Akuto can be restored if he finds a girl on Earth, glimpsed in a seer’s vision. As Munto embarks on his perilous journey, rival kingdoms plot to overthrow the Magical Kingdom and seize what little Akuto remains. Meanwhile, on Earth, Yumemi Hidaka struggles with visions of floating islands no one else can see. Though her friend Ichiko Ono believes her, Yumemi fears she might be losing her mind. When Munto appears before her, she dismisses him as another hallucination-especially since she’s preoccupied with her younger friend Suzume Imamura, who plans to run away with her delinquent boyfriend. With the Magical Kingdom teetering on collapse, Munto’s race to save both realms grows ever more urgent.
