Uta Komaki is just another high school freshman trying to make the most of her youth. Though she has a natural talent for singing-fitting, given her name-her crippling shyness and self-doubt keep her from joining the school’s light music club. Every time she tries, she freezes up, too intimidated by the club’s confident members to even turn in her application. Then one day, Airi Kojou, the president of the a cappella club, invites Uta to visit their group instead. Unlike the light music club, they perform entirely with their voices-no instruments. Uta is captivated by the way their harmonies blend, delicate yet perfectly layered, like the intricate sheets of a mille-feuille. Inspired, she quietly takes her first step toward finding her voice in a harmony where everyone belongs.
