Hakuoki - S03

Beaten and left for dead, Ryuunosuke Ibuki loses everything he has. When a man named Kamo Serizawa finds him in this wretched state, he offers Ibuki a second chance-to serve as his personal assistant. Though spared from despair, Ibuki soon discovers his new life reduces him to little more than a dog for one of Kyoto’s most powerful figures. At the same time, the shogunate dispatches the Roshigumi to Kyoto to quell the increasing ronin attacks terrorizing the city. Led by the dignified but quiet Isami Kondou, the Roshigumi consists of capable samurai, yet they lack the political influence needed to establish themselves in the crime-ridden capital. With no alternatives, Kondou strikes a deal with the arrogant Serizawa, trading their combat skills for his connections. Though Ibuki despises everything the samurai represent, he becomes entangled in the Roshigumi’s affairs. As he spends time with Kondou’s men, however, he begins to see that not all samurai are as heartless or dishonorable as he once believed. "Hakuouki Reimeiroku" follows the events preceding the Shinsengumi’s formation, set against a backdrop of rising political unrest and uncertainty in Kyoto.
