Gunbuster - S01

In the near future, humanity begins venturing into deep space, only to encounter a massive alien race called the "Space Monsters." These insectoid creatures appear determined to wipe out humankind as they advance toward Earth. To fight back, humanity builds giant combat robots, each piloted by carefully selected young recruits from across the globe. After the aliens' discovery, Noriko Takaya-daughter of a renowned but deceased space captain-enrolls in a pilot training school, despite her uncertain skills. There, she crosses paths with Kazumi Amano, her complete opposite: elegant, gifted, and confident. Forced to work together, the two must confront the horrors of war and their own tangled emotions along the way.
