Girly Air Force - S01

Kei Narutani and his childhood friend Song Minghua are Chinese refugees on the run from the Zai, a shadowy group wreaking havoc across their homeland. During their desperate escape to Japan, they’re rescued by an unusual red aircraft. Kei’s curiosity about the plane leads him to its pilot-a girl known as Gripen, an "Anima" who operates a specialized aircraft called a "Daughter." In her case, she’s a JAS-39F fighter with a surprisingly endearing personality. As Kei grows closer to Gripen, he’s enlisted by the Japan Self-Defense Force to help her overcome her struggles in flight. Soon, they’re joined by Eagle, a laid-back F-15J-ANM, and Phantom, a dignified RF-4EJ-ANM. Together, the squadron vows to stand against the Zai’s invasion, becoming humanity’s final shield against the alien menace.
