Galaxy Express 999: The Movie

Tetsurou Hoshino is determined to get a mechanical body that will make him immortal-his sole purpose is to take revenge on Count Mecha, the machine man who killed his mother. But the cost of such a body is impossibly high, leaving him with only one option: steal a ticket for the Galaxy Express 999, a legendary space train that travels the galaxy. Its final destination is a planet where mechanical bodies are given away for free. After successfully stealing a boarding pass, Tetsurou is chased by the police and collapses into the arms of Maetel, a mysterious woman who looks eerily like his mother. When he wakes up, she offers him passage on the 999-but only if he agrees to travel with her. With no other choice, Tetsurou accepts and boards the cosmic train, setting off on a journey across the stars alongside Maetel.
