Akari Taiyou is a young fortune teller in training, living with her aunt, uncle, and their daughter, Fuyuna. After losing her mother as a child, all Akari has left of her is a tarot deck and the hope of becoming a fortune teller like her. One night, Akari dreams of being attacked by a monstrous plant creature-only to watch a more powerful version of herself defeat it. When she wakes, she’s horrified to find that the monster was actually Fuyuna. Strangely, Akari and her family soon forget Fuyuna ever existed. After another encounter with a similar creature, three magical girls-Ginka Shirokane, Seira Hoshikawa, and Luna Tsukuyomi-save her. They reveal they belong to Sefiro Fiore, an organization that fights evil beings called "Daemonia" using the power of Elemental Tarot. Akari learns she is also a magical girl, inheriting her mother’s power tied to The Sun card. But she soon discovers that Daemonia are possessed humans, forcing her to choose between saving what remains of their humanity or erasing them entirely. As Akari struggles with her duty to protect the world from Daemonia, the unity of Sefiro Fiore-and even her own team-is tested by threats from both outside and within.
