According to legend, after Earth was destroyed, a master clockmaker known only as "Y" rebuilt the world using cogs and gears. Naoto Miura, a young boy with dreams of becoming a great clockmaker himself, possesses an unusual gift-his sharp hearing allows him to instantly grasp how clockwork mechanisms function just by listening to them. Yet despite this talent, he’s struggled to make any real progress. That changes when a mysterious coffin crashes into his home, revealing RyuZU, an automaton crafted by Y himself. RyuZU’s appearance soon draws the attention of Marie Bell Breguet, the skilled heir of a prestigious clockmaking family, and her cyborg bodyguard, Vainney Halter. As Naoto and Marie become entangled in a dangerous fight for survival, they uncover a disturbing truth: the clockwork planet humanity has inhabited for over a thousand years is slowly failing-and some will stop at nothing to keep that secret buried.
