Case Closed: The Fist of Blue Sapphire

The legendary "blue lapis fist," the world’s most valuable blue sapphire, is said to have been lost when a pirate ship sank off the coast of Singapore in the late 1800s. A wealthy local businessman schemes to recover it, but when the gem is displayed at an exhibition in Singapore’s Marina Sands hotel, a murder occurs-and a bloody calling card from the phantom thief Kaitou Kid is found at the scene. Meanwhile, Ran and Sonoko arrive in Singapore to watch a karate tournament. Conan, lacking a passport, was supposed to stay behind-but Kid, needing his help, uses a trick to drag him along against his will. If Conan wants to return to Japan, he has no choice but to obey. Kid steals his glasses, watch, and clothes, forcing him to disguise himself. When Ran, unaware of his identity, asks his name, he hastily comes up with "Arthur Hirai." Kid eventually learns the "fist" is hidden in a manor’s underground vault. Just as he thinks he’s slipped in unnoticed, he encounters a deadly trap-and facing him is Makoto Kyogoku, the undefeated karate champion with 400 consecutive wins.
