The world's gods are real-not just myths or legends. Hidden from humanity, they wage their own wars, leaving destruction in their wake. People mistake these battles between "Heretic Gods" for strange, unavoidable natural disasters. Sixteen-year-old Godou Kusanagi is just a normal high school student until his grandfather asks him to deliver an ancient tablet to an old friend in Italy. But when he arrives, he's swept into a clash between two Heretic Gods, joining forces with Erica Blandelli, a self-styled witch who fights to protect others. By some miracle, Godou defeats the god of war in battle, earning the title of "Campione"-a "God Slayer" destined to battle Heretic Gods and defend humanity. Now, as a Campione, Godou draws the attention of gods eager to test their might against him, as well as devoted followers-mostly women-who pledge their support in his fights. "Campione!: Matsurowanu Kamigami to Kamigoroshi no Maou" follows Godou as he navigates this hidden war, caught between the divine struggles of Heaven and Earth.
