Box of Goblins

Yoriko Kusumoto, a distracted schoolgirl, is completely devoted to her friend Kanako Yuzuki. Their summer trip plans are cut short when Kanako is discovered badly injured on train tracks, with Yoriko left sobbing on the platform. Shuutarou Kiba, a detective who was on the train that hit Kanako, takes on the case. He soon realizes the incident is tangled in a web of lies surrounding the Yuzuki family, particularly its most famous member-Kanako’s sister, the actress Youko Yuzuki. Though Kanako survives surgery, her condition remains critical. Youko assigns a doctor, Koushirou Mimasaka, to oversee her experimental treatment in a strange, box-like facility hidden in the forest. But when Kiba and Yoriko visit Kanako one night, the recovering girl vanishes without a trace. As Kiba searches for her, the case takes a darker turn with the discovery of severed limbs from young girls, all sealed in boxes. A colleague suggests these horrifying finds are linked not just to Kanako’s disappearance but also to the secrets surrounding Youko. With the help of his partners, Tatsumi Sekiguchi and Akihiko Chuuzenji, Kiba must unravel the truth behind these crimes and locate Kanako before it’s too late.
