After a fierce battle with Ichibei Hyousube, the leader of the Soul Society’s Royal Guard, Yhwach advances the final phase of his plan. His goal is to kill the Soul King, the being whose existence holds together the balance of three worlds: Hueco Mundo, the Soul Society, and the human world where Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends live. Uryuu Ishida, having defeated the remaining Royal Guard, now stands with Yhwach to help reshape reality in his vision. Driven by determination and newfound strength, Ichigo races to stop Yhwach before he can erase the three worlds and all who live in them. But Ichigo’s own heritage makes him vulnerable to Yhwach’s dark influence. At the same time, Jirou Sakuranosuke Shunsui Kyouraku, the newly appointed head captain of the Soul Society’s military forces, makes a desperate move-allying with a former enemy whose power could change the course of the battle.
