Germany faces a crisis as monstrous cybernetic creatures called "Amalgams" emerge from decaying flesh, merging with technology to grow even more dangerous. Society crumbles under their relentless attacks, prompting the formation of the Xenogenesis Assault Team (XAT) to combat the threat. While their main goal is to stop the Amalgams, the XAT also investigates a new breed of "amalgamated" humans-intelligent and far more lethal than their mindless counterparts. Joseph Jobson is one of these rare amalgamated humans, wielding his powers with precision as a lone fighter. But after a fateful clash with Gerd Frentzen, a newly turned Amalgam, Joseph becomes a high-priority target for the XAT. Forced into hiding, he searches for allies and eventually evolves into the Blassreiter-a being rumored to be the most powerful Amalgam alive. Now, with his enhanced abilities, Joseph must battle both the XAT and the Amalgams to uncover the truth behind his past and the origins of the conflict tearing the world apart.
