Banana Fish - S01

Aslan Jade Callenreese, nicknamed Ash Lynx, was taken in as a runaway by the notorious mafia boss Dino Golzine and raised on the streets of New York. Now seventeen and leading his own gang, Ash is digging into the meaning of "Banana Fish"-the cryptic phrase his older brother Griffin has repeated ever since coming back from the Iraq War. But his search hits a snag when Dino's men track him down to an underground bar he uses as a hideout. At the bar, Ash's friend Skip introduces him to Shunichi Ibe and his assistant, Eiji Okumura, two Japanese photographers documenting American street gangs. Before they can talk much, Ash gets a warning call from his ally Shorter Wong-Dino is making his move. The bar is soon raided, and in the confusion, Skip and Eiji are taken. Now Ash has to save them and keep unraveling the mystery of Banana Fish, but his tangled ties to the mafia might stand in his way.
