Yukito Kunisaki is traveling to find the Winged Maiden, a figure from an old tale his mother told him about, said to be tied to the sky long ago. One day, he arrives in a quiet little town, expecting to move on quickly-until he meets a strange girl named Misuzu, who invites him to stay. As Yukito spends more time there, he befriends the townspeople and learns about their struggles. He decides to help them, setting aside his search for the Winged Maiden.
